Lifestyle & Branding Photoshoot for Atlanta Floral Designer, Eva Isabel Castillo

The review Eva left on my Google Page blew me away and I had to share it! Here’s exactly what she said:

Katya is truly an amazing photographer! She carries a great vibe and transfers it to her clients. I'm not usually comfortable in front of a camera but my session with her felt effortless! The photos she captured reflect something that is utterly me in a natural and very unique way. This is exactly what you want from a branding session - only Katya managed to exceed every expectation I had! It's also worth noting that she prepares well before her session, going above and beyond to get clarity on branding, poses, outfits, makeup, props etc. This allowed her to make the best use of our time. 100% worth the investment for your business. I look forward to working with Katya time and time again!

Beyond grateful for Eva, I wanted to shed some light on what exactly we do before the shoot to prepare, what questions make up this process and how it affects clients.

During the brand discovery and onboarding process, we start with broad brand questions like:

- What emotions do you want your audience to feel when they see you online
- What descriptive words can be used when talking about you and your brand
- What are the goals for the photoshoot and how do you plan on using your images
- What does your work look like on a daily basis and what tools do you use

After that one of a requirements is to create a vision or mood board (I love Pinterest for this one) so I can get a sense of your style and aesthetics. Finally we go over scenes and what the client will be doing in each of them to create a shot list. This will determine what props they will need to bring, how their outfits will change with each scene and what makeup look we are going for.

The day of the shoot, my clients are usually relaxed and confident because they come prepared and excited, completely on board with what will be going down, and trusting me to keep tabs on the time, go through the shot list and make sure we tick off all the must-haves and as many as possible nice-to-haves off the list.

Finally, what happens during the shoot is extremely important too! Direction, feedback, showing back of the camera, playing out what I want them to do so they get a sense of the pose before asking them to do it, laughing out loud with them when I need them to do a genuine laugh. All these create an amazing bubble of energy and creativity that we stay in during the shoot - leading to personal, unique, happy and genuine photos that your audience can connect to.

I have a quick checklist of must-have shots I try to get during every branding photoshoot on my website. Its absolutely free and you should definitely go download it today!
Can't wait to start working with you!
